FIELD: metallurgy, namely manufacture of microcrystalline magnetostrictive belt from alloy on base of iron-aluminum system.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of melting alloy on base of iron-aluminum system, said alloy contains aluminum, 7 - 14% and carbon, 0.04 - 0.1%; casting melt at temperature of melt discharging 1755 - 1800°C at initial specific pressure 0.35 - 0.4 t/cm2 at rapid quenching 106 - 107°C/s; then performing electroplastic rolling at using electric current 50 000 A/mm2 with reduction value up to 30% for making belt with thickness 0.2 mm; subjecting belt to high-temperature annealing 1150 -1200°C for 1 - 2 h at heating rate 20° C/min and at further cooling at rate 100° C/min till 600°C and then at rate 50°C/h till 400°C. Such method allows increase saturation magnetostriction in comparison with prototype from 70 x 10 -6 λS till 90 x 10-6 λS that is by 28%. Such magnetostrictive materials are similar to magnetrostrictive materials on base of nickel, iron-cobalt alloys.
EFFECT: increased magnetostriction parameter of belt material.
