METHOD FOR OPERATIVE TREATMENT OF VALGUS DEVIATION OF GREAT TOE IN COMBINATION WITH DEFORMING ARTHROSIS OF THE FIRST METATARSO-PHALANGEAL JOINT Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B17/56 

FIELD: medicine, traumatology, orthopedics.

SUBSTANCE: one should make cutaneous incision in projection of the first metatarso-phalangeal joint, conduct arthrotomy at simultaneous cutting out a P-shaped capsular fragment. After burs-exostosisectomy and resection of proximal phalanx' bottom it is necessary to remove osteophytes along with treating osseous cuttings to achieve smooth surface. Then one should carry out hemostasis with wax followed by subchondral tunnelization of distal metaepiphysis of the first metatarsal bone in radial directions being parallel to articular surface. During the next stage, one should split in halves the prepared fragment in longitudinal direction, the upper half should be applied between articular surfaces for arthroplasty to be fixed to proximal phalanx transosseously. The lower half of the fragment should be applied for plasty of internal capsular department of the joint due to forming duplicature for withdrawing a great toe into correct position. The innovation enables to decrease intraosseous pressure, liquidate vascular spasm and improve regeneration of cartilage and bone in area of operated joint.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
