FIELD: ferrous metallurgy, namely producing rolled pieces and forged blanks of alloy and constructional steels.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of correcting chemical content of melt in ladle by adding silicon, manganese, aluminum; blowing gas; introducing carbon in the form of powder wire. Silicon and manganese are added in quantities determined according to relation taking into account total content of silicon and manganese in ready steel, predetermined carbon equivalent value, content of phosphorus and total content of non-ferrous metals in melt. Aluminum is introduced in the form of wire and its addition is stopped after achieving oxygen activity in melt metal [O] = (1.5 - 3.5)10 -6 /[S x Si]st where [O] -active oxygen content, mass %; [S x Si]st - initial content of sulfur and silicon respectively before beginning aluminum addition, mass %; (1.5 - 3.5)10 -6 - empiric coefficient taking into account morphology and composition of formed non -metallic inclusions.
EFFECT: reduced trend of rolled and forged pieces to fragile and viscous breaking.
