COMPLEX FOR OFFLINE ELECTROCHEMICAL TREATMENT OF SOLUTIONS Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC C25B9/06 C25C7/00

Abstract RU 2280713 C1

FIELD: apparatuses for electrochemical treatment of solutions, possibly electrolytic metal extraction or oxidation-reduction processes.

SUBSTANCE: electrochemical complex includes vertical cylindrical flow-through electrolyzer 1 with unit for pumping solution 2 arranged in upper part of electrolyzer; cathode 5 made on base of three-dimension porosity electrode material; inner and outer anodes 3, 4 and reference electrode 6, all connected with regulating potentiometer 7; accumulation chamber 14 arranged in lower part of electrolyzer; pointer for indicating limit level of filling cathode with metal. Complex is provided in addition with vertical jacket 16 impermeable for solution and mounted at outer side of electrolyzer 1. Inter-electrode space restricted by inner anode 3 and porous cathode 5 is divided by two portions by means of horizontal partition electrically non-conducting and impermeable for solution. Tubes 18,19 made of electrically non-conducting material and having apertures along their whole length are mounted in said space in parallel to inner anode 3. In first portion of inter-electrode space tubes 18 are connected by their one ends with solution pumping unit 2 and their other ends adjoin to horizontal partition 17. In second portion of inter-electrode space tubes 19 adjoin to partition 17 by their end ends, their other ends adjoin to openings in base of accumulation chamber 14.

EFFECT: enhanced operational efficiency of electrolyzer, improved distribution of extracted metal concentration in inter-electrode space, highly uniform filling of cathode matrix, increased final mass of metal deposited on one porous matrix.
