FIELD: gas leakage detecting devices.
SUBSTANCE: gas detector has case. There are cathode, anode and input hole for gas to be detected inside the case as well as aids for measuring discharge current, high-voltage power supply generating voltage being necessary for keeping corona discharge between anode and cathode. Cathode is made of n needles, where n≥2, mounted symmetrically in relation to case. Voltage from high-voltage power supply is applied to needles of cathode which voltage exceeds ignition voltage of corona discharge in detected gas at points of n needles. Needles of cathode are made with additional internal channels for supplying gas which channels are connected with additional device for forced pump-through of detector with gas.
EFFECT: widened range of concentrations of measured gas; higher top border of effect of interrupted measured discharge current.
