FIELD: processes and equipment for finishing and secondary working rolled steel strips.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of applying to metal separation point efforts normal to metal surface and directed mutually opposite at simultaneously drawing separated narrow strips; preliminarily notching leading end of steel strip by portions with width equal to width of narrow strips; at slitting steel strip with thickness h = 2 - 10 mm in preset points electric current with frequency f = 504/h0,1 kHz is supplied to separated portions for heating metal in separation point till temperature in range 1100 - 1300°C; at drawing separated narrow strips rotating their cross sections to one side by angle 8 - 12°. Apparatus for performing the method includes slitting unit in the form of pairs of disc rollers applying to strip normal mutually opposite efforts; pulling unit; pair of guiding horizontal cylindrical rollers arranged at inlet; electric current conducting members arranged along motion direction of strip behind slitting unit with possibility of engaging with slit narrow strips; preset number of cone rollers arranged behind slitting unit in lower and upper axles. Generatrices of such rollers are inclined to one side relative to horizon by angle 8 - 12 °. Slitting unit is non-driven one.
EFFECT: lowered production costs, improved quality of slit metal.
