FIELD: siccatives, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for preparing siccatives proposed as both independent commercial goods and used in production of paint and varnish materials as accelerating agents - catalysts. Method involves interaction of zinc oxide or lead oxide with 2-ethylhexanoic acid in two-step heating to 105°C at the first step and to 120°C at the second step in the presence of the reaction accelerating agent wherein unsaturated low-molecular co-oligomer is used that comprises 30-50 wt.-% of cyclopentadiene and 5-20 wt.-% of indene links, boiling out at temperature 200-370°C under normal pressure and having molecular mass 150-300 a.m.u., iodine number 30-75 g of iodine/100 g and the following dilution in mixture of white spirit with 25-75 wt.-% of distillate of unreacted hydrocarbons in polymerization of liquid products of pyrolysis as an organic solvent and boiling out at temperature 120-200°C and having density value 860-1005 kg/m3. Synthesis of siccative is carried out in the mole ratio of the parent reagents: zinc oxide or lead oxide : 2-ethylhexanoic acid = 1.0:(1.7-2.5), and the amount of added accelerating agent of the reaction is 0.5-2.0 wt.-% of the parent reagent charge. Method provides improving the quality of synthesized siccative in simultaneous reducing consumptions for it preparing.
EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
