FIELD: metallurgy of ferroalloys, namely melting of ferroaluminum.
SUBSTANCE: process is used for melting ferroaluminum in furnaces with capacity 1 - 2.5 t. Process comprises steps of loading initial charge; melting it; heating it up to temperature more than aluminum melting temperature; soaking in crucible induction melting furnace; discharging metal. Main part of charge is loaded into melting furnace with capacity 1 -2.5 t till completely filling such furnace. Main part of charge contains steel and aluminum crops in relation determined by content of melt alloy. As depositing charge its remaining part is after-loaded by batches and it is heated till 1330 - 1350°C. After soaking metal is discharged into molds for producing ingots with mass no more than 1.2 kg and size 40 - 70 mm. At least 20% of discharged alloy is remained in furnace.
EFFECT: lowered loss alloy main elements due to simultaneously melting main ingredients of charge in mode with optimal electric parameters.
