FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to camshaft drive tension adjusters. Proposed chain tension adjuster of engine camshaft has housing, drive axle with spring, and lock. Housing accommodates movable adjusting screw whose inner space is provided with movable axle of drove with spring. Lock is made in form of cap nut turned onto cover. Ball-lock resting of drive axle is installed inside nut. Movable axle of drive is sectional, it upper part has cylindrical form, and lower part is made flat. In operating condition axle of drive is moved under action of rotating spring, one end of which is secured on upper part of drive axle. Flat clock spring is installed in tension adjuster.
EFFECT: provision of automation of chain tensioning, improved reliability of operation of chain tension adjuster.
