FIELD: electrical engineering; magnetic focusing systems of charged particle accelerators.

SUBSTANCE: proposed process for manufacturing ribbon solenoids designed to produce strong magnetic fields to meet rigorous requirements to azimuthal symmetry of axial magnetic field includes placement of ribbon conductor turns and insulator between internal and external electrodes and electrical connection of ribbon conductor to electrodes. Novelty is that at least two ribbon conductors are placed at a time and conducting junctions are disposed axisymmetrically and uniformly at certain angle on electrodes. Electrode surfaces between adjacent conducting junctions are additionally insulated.

EFFECT: enhanced azimuthal symmetry of axial magnetic field in ribbon solenoid.
