FIELD: nuclear engineering; separation of isotopes from their natural mixture. SUBSTANCE: mixture of charged particles is fed from source 2 to separator 6 located in vacuum chamber 1. Separator 6 consists of plates 7 and 8 of permanent magnet which are in contact near source 2. Plates 7 and 8 are bent over arcs of circular orbits of charged particles and are provided with slots 11 and 12. Magnetic barrier formed at area of contact of plates 7 and 8 holds particles on single momentary circular orbit. When charged particles get in area of divergence of plates 7 and 8, magnetic barriers diverge. Beam of light particles in slot 11 of plate 7 remains on orbit of lesser radius and beam of heavy charged particles moved over orbit of larger radius. Holding the beam of heavy charge particles on this orbit is effected by means of magnetic barrier formed by slot 12 of plate 8. charged particles of one mass only are accumulated in receivers 9 and 10. EFFECT: possibility of separating particles without consumption of energy for forming magnetic field; ease in use. 3 dwg
