FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: one should perform blocking of lacrimal canaliculi with a silicone tube covered into amniotic membrane, remove pterygium, separate a tenonoconjunctival fragment and apply amniotic membrane onto a cornea along limbic edge. The area of amniotic membrane's transplant should be matched in accordance to that of the increase of pterygial growth and lesion of mucin-producing perilimbic structures. The innovation improves the state of lacrimal film stability, prolongs the remission of dry-eye syndrome and physiological flow of postoperational period after surgical removal of pterygium along with prophylaxis of pterygial relapses and blockade of lacrimal canaliculus.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
