FIELD: manufacture of structural members of flying vehicles or molds for injection molding of plastics or rubber.

SUBSTANCE: proposed metal blank includes at least two interconnected metal plates made from aluminum alloys; thickness of each plate is 12.5 mm. Yield point of blank in preset direction at any point is at least 75% of yield point of initial metal plate determined at ¼ thickness in the same direction. Blank consisting of two and more metal plates of large thickness may be obtained by connecting them by explosion welding of electron beam or by adhesion or by rolling or forging.

EFFECT: improved mechanical properties over entire width and low level of residual stresses.
