FIELD: sealing facilities, in particular, sealing devices for movable connections, for example, stem sealing devices.
SUBSTANCE: sealing device has casing and chamber provided within casing and made in the form of cylinder continued with part shaped as ellipsoid. Sealing pack and stem are located within said chamber. Sealing pack is made in the form of fluoroplastic spiral with plastic packing members positioned between spiral coils. Outer surface of sealing packs in compressed state conforms to portion of mating ellipsoid surface of said chamber.
EFFECT: uniform distribution of contact pressure between stem and spiral, between spiral coils and between spiral and chamber wall, said contact pressure providing for reliable sealing of construction throughout the entire operating period.
