METHOD FOR MEASUREMENT OF PHASE SHIFT IN CONDITIONS OF INTENSIVE NOISE Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC G01R25/04

Abstract RU 2282202 C1

FIELD: development of navigation systems and noise immunity information transmission systems.

SUBSTANCE: use is made of the reference signal whose next position relative to that under investigation is obtained by shifting the reference signal, for example to the right. The readouts of the reference signal are summed up with the readouts of the estimate of the noise component of the signal under investigation correlated with the noise component of the signal under investigation. Calculated is the estimate of the likelihood functional, which is a derivative of the correlation integral of the signal under examination in the reference signal. The operations of the shift of the reference signal, summation of its readouts with the readouts of the noise estimate and calculations of the value of the estimate of the likelihood function are repeated until the zero of the estimate of the likelihood functional is obtained. The value of the shift between the reference signal and the signal under investigation corresponding to the zero of the estimate of the likelihood functional is transformed into the code of the phase shift.

EFFECT: reduced error in determination of the phase shift in the condition of noise, correlated with the signal under investigation at a low signal-to-noise ration.
