FIELD: thermo-electric tool-making industry, in particular, engineering of cascade thermo-electric batteries.
SUBSTANCE: thermo-electric battery contains N cascades, each one of which consists of alternating branches, serially connected in electric circuit by means of commutation plates, which alternating branches are made respectively of p-type and n-type semiconductor. Electric connection of branches is realized by means of contact: p-type branch - commutation plate - n - type branch, where p-type branch is in contact with one of surfaces of commutation plate, and n-type branch - with opposite one. Commutation plates have area, which is somewhat greater, that area of transverse section of branches of p- and n-type, due to which their parts project beyond surface of structure, formed by branches of thermo-electric battery. Parts of commutation plates, forming cold contacts, project beyond one surface of structure, and parts of commutation plates, forming hot contacts - beyond another one. Electric contact between cascades is realized through edge cold commutation plates of previous cascade, simultaneously being hot communication plates for next cascade. Thermal contact of separate cascades is realized by mating of commutation plates of following cascade to commutation plates of previous cascade through highly thermo-conductive dielectric insert. From hot commutation plates off first cascade, heat is dumped into environment. Cold commutation plates of N-numbered cascade are mated with freezing object.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and reliability, simplified technology for manufacturing cascade thermo-electric battery.
