FIELD: hardening and restoration of parts by electric contact welding and thermo-chemical treatment.
SUBSTANCE: cast iron chips are mixed with chromium powder at size of particles of 0.1-0.6 mm; mixture is placed in container and is treated by diffusion metallization at temperature of 1050-1150°C during 2-8 hours; then, mixture is cooled to room temperature and container is opened. Chips thus treated are applied on band for electric contact welding or on specimen of sheet metal which is welded to part. Proposed method makes it possible to retain initial structure of steel core of article being treated considerably enhancing the surface hardness and corrosion resistance of article and improving welded joints of band and part being treated since band is welded-on through intermediate layer of cast iron chips sintered with chromium powder by diffusion metallization method; article is not subjected to thermo-chemical treatment which makes it possible to retain its initial properties.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability.
