FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method can be used in the manufacture, restoration and/or hardening of machine parts, in particular the share of the plow. Steel waste in the form of hacksaws, or files, or nail files, or drills are used as a filler material for electrocontact welding to obtain a coating on the surface of the part. After the edges are leveled, the wastes are laid side by side on the workpiece surface and fixed with welding points. Welds are then welded all over the surface with point or seam welding with heating to a temperature below the melting point and above the quenching temperature of the steel from which they are made, while welding current pulses of 6–12 kA at a voltage of 3–6 V are passed through the welding zone. At the same time, a cooling liquid is supplied to the weld zone to quench the coating to obtain a predetermined hardness.
EFFECT: method does not require remelting of waste in metallurgical aggregates, while providing an increase in the life of machine parts operating under conditions of intensive wear.
