FIELD: pipeline engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises mounting electric heaters over the periphery of the polymeric shells of pipes to be joined between the outer surfaces of the polymeric shells and inner side of polymeric coupling. The electric heaters are made of an electric conductor set in the shaped polymeric insulating shell. The polymeric coupling is electrically welded to the polymeric shells up to the melting of the shaped polymeric insulating shell of the electric heater. The material of the shaped polymeric insulating shell is the same as that of the polymeric shells and polymeric coupling.
EFFECT: simplified method and device.
