FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, equipment for determining height above ground of harvesting mechanisms such as combine header.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has rotation sensor mounted on header and elongated curved flexible measuring bar attached with its one end to rotation sensor. Measuring bar has concave surface facing upward and comprises outer enclosure and internal mechanical rod for increasing strength during rotation and movements over uneven site. Bar is positioned near lower part of header having cutting unit for mowing of crop. Once header encounters raised portion of ground, point of contact of bar with ground is moved forward along bar to provide for early warning on raised portion of ground and timely adjustment of height for preventing header from damage.
EFFECT: simplified construction and provision for preventing header from damage.
