FIELD: agricultural engineering, in particular, means for investigating physiological characteristics of animal's udder.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus for measuring teat diameter has mechanism for measuring diameter of teat, and single-chamber teat cup, which is made detachable, transparent and is equipped with graduated scale. Mechanism for measuring diameter of teat is located within casing of teat cup and consists of movement mechanism and measuring part comprising sensor for sensing rotation of levers spring-loaded to teat cup casing. Movement mechanism is made in the form of spring-loaded pressure plates with eyelets for bringing them together. Pressure plates are pivotally secured to measuring part of levers. Teat cup is connected to cover of detachable milk collecting reservoir, which is connected to valve through branch pipe wherein vacuum meter is located. Said valve is connected to vacuum pipeline. Rotation sensor and vacuum meter are connected to registering device for varying vacuum gage pressure value.

EFFECT: increased efficiency and precision in measuring diameter of teat.
