FIELD: class of geophysical instruments.
SUBSTANCE: geophysical radar used for searching subsurface objects has spatially coupled transmitting and receiving antenna assemblies, each being made in the form of separate case accommodating antenna and control unit; it also has control unit coupled with electronic computer, transmitting and receiving devices. Control unit of transmitting antenna assembly is made in the form of transmitter triggering device using optical or electrical signals arriving from control unit and transmitter; control unit of receiving device is made in the form of receiver and stroboscopic converter starting unit. Control unit is designed to implement functions for shaping transmitter, receiver and stroboscopic converter triggering pulses, sawtooth signals, and computer signals. Cases for transmitting and receiving antenna assemblies are made in the form of parallelepiped-shaped zinc-plated iron whose bottom plastic panel mounts butterfly-type antenna. This antenna is, essentially, closed loop whose two opposing sides are disposed along opposing sides of bottom panel and each of two other sides of loop is cambered in direction of bottom panel geometric center. Branches of antenna concave section in center of distance between geometric center of bottom panel and edge of the latter are straight and relatively disposed at right angle.
EFFECT: enhanced precision, definition, and reliability of heterogeneity detection and identification.
