SUBSTANCE: inventions relate to the field of research of anisotropic near-wellbore space and can be used for prospecting, exploration and exploitation of oil and gas fields. This method of electromagnetic sensing is that the sensing is carried out by means of a device containing a downhole transceiver unit, designed to descend into the well, and a computer. Said transceiver unit is equipped with a vertical case, inside which an ultrashort pulse generator, at least one receiving antenna, a transmitting antenna, an analog-to-digital converter and a pulse signal amplifier unit are fixed. Said transceiver unit is lowered into the well and ultrashort pulse sounding is performed. Broadband pulse, emitted by the ultrashort pulse generator, is radiated into the environment by the transmitting antenna. Said receiving antenna registers the reflected pulse signal, which is amplified, then recorded and processed. For the processing of pulse signals using the method of a common depth point.
