FIELD: means of aerosol counteraction, in particular, smoke grenades for smoke curtaining used both by a shot and by hand throwing, applicable for protection of personnel and armored equipment against close combat weapon, as well as against high-accuracy weapon.

SUBSTANCE: the grenade has a body with a smoking compound, jet engine with a propellant charge, nozzle unit and an electric primer, igniter and a retarder. The igniter and the retarder are enclosed in a shell, whose strength and stiffness make up 0.4 to 0.75 of the strength and stiffness of the body, they are installed from one end face of the body with the smoking compound, and the jet engine with the propellant charge, nozzle unit and the electric primer is positioned in the body from the opposite end face. The igniter, retarder, smoking compound, propellant charge and the electric primer are series connected to a single fire circuit. The propellant charge has booster and cruise charges separated by a clearance, whose value makes up 0.05 to 0.15 of the outside diameter of the booster charge made in the form of a channel tablet and positioned on a grate. The cruise charge is connected to the smoking compound without any clearance. The grenade has a simple construction, inexpensive and convenient in use, it can be fired and thrown by hand.
