FIELD: measurement engineering.
SUBSTANCE: acoustic oscillations are received and radiated in turn along and against motion of flux in pipeline by means of two piezoelectric ceramic converters. Acoustic oscillations working mode signal is determined in received signal from s/n maximal ratio and working mode signal time interval is chosen to have maximal s/n ratio. Inside chosen time interval the times T1 and T2, corresponding to phase shifts, of working mode signal propagation from one converter to the other are measured inside chosen time interval. Flux discharge is found on the base of measured values from calculation estimation ration. Device which realizes the method is provided with system for tracking the position of gate pulse relatively controlled phase of working mode received signal inside selected time interval, which phase is connected to strobe former, and computational unit.
EFFECT: improved precision; higher sensitivity due to selection and processing of more informative signal.
