FIELD: manufacturing processes in machine engineering, possibly friction surface strengthening of working surfaces further subjected to polishing or grinding.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of imparting rotation and feed motion along worked surface to blank and to combination tool having strengthening disc and diamond-abrasive wheel with axial shift of peripheral cutting and strengthening layers; using combination tool in which diamond-abrasive wheel is built up petal type one. Diamond-abrasive wheel is made with possibility of restoring its outer diameter; it includes petal arranged across rotation axis and having arranged at one side radial waves clamped by means of two flanges in pack with possibility of extending in radial direction. Each petal is made of strip whose width exceeds radius half but it is less than radius of combination tool. Length of said strip is equal to length of petal circle cemented by ends for shaping shell that is turned inside and forms radial waves.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process due to increased rigidity of petals.
