FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, grinding and polishing of part surfaces.
SUBSTANCE: method involves recovering operating size of petal-type disk located by means of skew washers arranged on ends at an acute angle to plane perpendicular to its axis of rotation. Petal-type disk consists of packet of petals, said packet being squeezed by means of two flanges so that radial waves are created. Petals are manufactured by gluing in end-to-end relation of strips of double-sided diamond-abrasive grinding cloth for defining shells and by turning one end of each shell so as to produce radial waves. Width of strips is smaller than radius but greater than half the radius of petal-type disk and length of strip is equal to length of circle of said disk. As petals wear out, they are protruded in radial direction by means of flanges for recovering outer diameter of petal-type disk.
EFFECT: wider operational capabilities and reduced consumption of abrasive material.
