FIELD: electrolytic production of aluminum; determination of electrolyte composition and control of technological parameters of process.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes local destruction of electrolyte-alumina crust, removal of carbon foam, mixing of electrolyte, drawing of electrolyte sample with the aid of preheated sampler, pouring liquid electrolyte sample into ingot mold and crystallization of this sample. Working container of sampler is heated to temperature not below crystallization temperature of alkaline component of electrolyte of given composition; sample is kept in ingot mold for at least 2.5 h. Working container of sampler is preliminarily heated to 200-250°C and then to temperature not below crystallization temperature of alkaline component of electrolyte by placing it into molten electrolyte contained in electrolyzer. Liquid sample is fully poured from working container of sampler into ingot mold. Accurate data of analysis of electrolyte samples makes it possible to set electrolyzer in optimal technological mode of operation.
EFFECT: enhanced technical and economical parameters of process.
