FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgical production, in particular to the production of aluminum, and can be used in the samples preparation of aluminum and its alloys for analysis for hydrogen content. Molds are dipped in a melt. Mold is filled with a liquid metal and further the metal is cooled and crystallized. For sampling, an integral metal mold is used with a recess for the sample, which is conically tapered into the interior of the mold. Mold is dipped into the liquid metal in an inverted position so that air remains inside it. Then, the mold is turned to remove air from it, and is filled with a metal. After that, they are extracted from the melt and the metal is cooled to a complete crystallization. In addition, before dipping the mold into the liquid metal, the sample recess can be filled with an inert gas.
EFFECT: obtaining representative samples of metal, reducing sampling time, eliminating the use of consumables, the possibility of sampling metal from metallurgical vessels from different depths and at a distance to the sampling point of several meters are provided.
