FIELD: electrochemistry, namely equipment for electrolytical production of hydrogen and oxygen. SUBSTANCE: electrolyzer has electrodes in the form of set of plates; plates of cathode are mounted alternatively with plates of anode. One electrode is mounted with possibility of reciprocation motion and it has piston; another electrode is fixed and its terminal plates is combined with bottom of electrolyzer housing. The last is arranged coaxially with gap in reservoir and it is communicated with cavity of said reservoir through system of inlet and outlet valves. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced operational reliability, versatility of using independently upon type of electrode. 6 cl, 1 dwg
