METHOD FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF LARGE AND GIANT HERNIAS OF ANTERIOR ABDOMINAL WALL Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine, surgery, herniology.

SUBSTANCE: it is necessary to fulfill the plasty of anterior abdominal wall in case of large and giant hernias by substituting the defect with reticular implant out of titanium nickelide in two layers: from internal side of the defect one should apply the implant pre-germinated with autoconnective tissue, the second implant should be put onto external surface of the defect. Both implants should be fixed as a single block along the edges of peridefective tissues for about 3-5 cm with the help of titanium nickelide ligature of 90-100 mcm thickness with P-shaped sutures through the thickness of fascial-muscular layer. The innovation enables to prevent intestinal complications, relapse of the disease in such patients at insufficiency of peritoneal tissues and those of greater omentum.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of therapy.
