FIELD: machines designed for mechanization of wood splitting operations in wood working.

SUBSTANCE: the wood splitting machine has a cleaving unit, power unit including a cross-arm mounted for movement in guides, two power and auxiliary hydraulic cylinders linked with the cross-arm, and a pan. The cross-arm is made with a pan attached to it, besides, the machine is provided with a movable stop with additional guides placed on it, they are positioned in parallel with the cross-arm guides and made in the form of rods, which in turn are engageable with the rollers installed on supports positioned on the cross-arm guides. The machine is provided with an assembly of rotary catches made in the form of a rotary axle with a pair of catches fixed on it and positioned on both ides of the cleaving unit and installed for engagement of the catches with the movable stop in its working position. The catches connect both ends of the axle by a crosspiece enveloping the cleaving unit from the top and positioned at an angle to the vertical diametric plane of the axle.

EFFECT: reduced labor content and enhanced capacity of the machine.
