METHOD AND DEVICE FOR FORMING OUTPUT SIGNAL FOR MAKING ELECTRIC-SURGICAL INFLUENCE ONTO BIOLOGICAL TISSUES Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC A61B18/12

Abstract RU 2285490 C2

FIELD: medical equipment; surgery.

SUBSTANCE: method and device can be used for cutting and coagulating of soft tissues. Method of forming output signal for making influence electric-surgical influence onto biological tissues is based upon formation of excitation pulse by means of high-frequency oscillator, subsequent modulation and amplification of signal. Modulated high-frequency voltage is generated at output of electric-surgical device working at cutting and coagulating modes. When working under condition of cutting, current pulses have rectangular shape. Value of high-frequency voltage equals to 100-2000 V, pulse duration is 5-500 microseconds and pulse repletion frequency equals to 500-2000 Hz. When working in coagulation mode, current pulses are formed with decreasing amplitude, which is found from ratio of A(t)=1/1+K1+t/T-K2x(t/T)2, where K1=(45-55) and K2=(20-30) are coefficients which define shape of pulse, T is pulse duration and t is current time. Electric-surgical device for realization of the method has high-frequency pulse oscillator connected with modulator, and control unit. Modulator is placed between functional oscillator and amplifier. Second input of modulator is connected with output of functional oscillator. Control unit is made in form of unit for selecting mode of operation, and control boards. Outputs of the unit are connected with inputs of functional oscillator.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of cutting and coagulation of biological tissues; minimal blood loss; reduced traumatism.
