FIELD: powder materials, namely methods for producing steel base composition materials with added carbides, possibly used for making near-roll fittings for bar and rod rolling mills.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of mixing steel powders with fraction size no more than 93 micrometers and refractory compound with fraction size no more than 40 micrometers at mass relation (9:1) - (7:3); disintegrating powder to fraction size no more than 40 micrometers; placing charge into gas permeable envelopes; sealing them and performing hydrostatic pressing at 300 - 1000 MPa. Produced blanks are sintered in vacuum at residual pressure in step heating mode at controlled rate between separate heating steps. Then blanks are annealed from sintering temperature in step mode.
EFFECT: increased uniform density, improved strength.
