FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: charge for composite cathode contains the following, wt %: powder of titanium suicide Ti5Si3 13.0-63.0, rest for titanium, at that it contains silicon in range 6-25 at %, and initial powders in charge have dispersion 50-160 mcm. Method of manufacturing of composite cathode out of charge means that powder charge is prepared, cathode blank is pressed out it, and sintering in vacuum is performed, at that charge is prepared as per said ratio, cathode blank is pressed out of the charge to achieve the residual porosity from 20 to 25%, cathode blank heating to sintering temperature is performed in the vacuum furnace with rate 2-3 degrees/min, and sintering is performed at temperature 1100-1250°C and isothermal holding 2-4 hours.

EFFECT: cathode with minimum density at higher silicon content in it.
