FIELD: shipbuilding; manufacture of wave propellers for surface ships and submarine ships; visual aids for demonstration of wave motion.
SUBSTANCE: proposed propeller has blade connected with dive for translational motion and angular oscillations; it includes link with slide block engageable with fixed cam and articulated with connecting rod which is also articulated with slide block mounted in guide. Blade is rigidly connected with connecting rod and its plane passes through articulation connecting the connecting rod with slide block. Cam is made in form described by the following equation: x=sin(α0sint), y=Acost+l[cos(α0sint)-cosα0)], where A is amplitude of blade motion; l is connecting rod length, l=(2-6)A; α0 is amplitude of blade turn; α0 =π/12 to π/6; t is parameter equal to angle of turn of link, 0≤t≤2π. Propeller may be additionally provided with two or more (preferably three or four) blades with translational motion and angular oscillation drive, similarly to first one; they are arranged in row. Guides of slide blocks may be parallel to each other. Sizes of respective members of drives of all blades may be equal. Blade drives may include kinematic linkage at ratio equal to one; angles φ of turn of links relative to one another may be proportional to ordinal number of blade in row. It is good practice to have three of four blades in row. Kinematic linkage shall be made in form of gears mounted on shafts with similar number of teeth connected by intermediate gears. Shield connected with ship's bottom shall be located in parallel with blade row.
EFFECT: reduced resistance to motion of blade; enhanced efficiency of propeller.
