FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: method involves the dihydrochlorination and isomerization reactions of 7,7-dichloro[4.1.0]heptane by effect with copper mono- and bivalent salts and alcohol of the formula: ROH wherein R means methyl (Me) or ethyl (Et) wherein alcohol acts as a HCl-binding reagent in the mole ratio of components [7,7-dichlorobicyclo[4.1.0]-heptane] : [ROH] : [cat] = 1:10:0.01, respectively, at temperature 60°C for 6 h. Invention provides increasing yield and purity of the end product and simplifying equipment requirement of the process.
EFFECT: improved method of synthesis.
