FIELD: mechanical engineering; compressors.
SUBSTANCE: compressor is designed for compression of gas by means of thermal energy. Proposed device includes members designed for preliminary processing of gas to be compressed and conveying thermal energy to gas, members designed for expansion of compressed gas at acoustic speed in reaction expansion tube, members for repeated compression of gas in adiabatic compression reaction tube. Device contains suction line including member required for heating of gas to be compressed, intake chamber, narrowing expansion cone providing rise of speed to acoustic value; transition zone; narrowing reaction expansion/cooling tube; cooling system consisting of set of liquid atomizing nozzles with position and flow rate adjusted from outside arranged along zones and providing maintaining of optimum acoustic and subacoustic speed along entire axis of tube; adiabatic compression widening cone designed for compression of gas by reducing its speed to normal-flow subacoustic speed; damping chamber; removal line including additional members.
