FIELD: fuel combustion methods and devices.
SUBSTANCE: pressure gain combustor comprises a detonation chamber, a pre-combustion chamber, an oxidant swirl generator on the oxidant delivery pathway, an expansion-deflection nozzle, between the pre-combustion chamber and the detonation chamber, providing a liquid diffusion pathway therebetween and an igniting device in contact with the low-speed swirl zone of the pre-combustion chamber. Detonation chamber has an inlet and an outlet pipe, and is configured to create a supersonic combustion phenomenon therein. Pre-combustion chamber has an outlet pipe connected via a liquid medium to the inlet pipe of the detonation chamber, an inlet pipe connected to the fuel supply channel, a housing whose inner surface defines a circumferential perimeter between the inlet and outlet pipes, and a circular hole connected to the annular oxidant supply channel. Swirl generator for swirling the oxidant in the oxidant delivery pathway comprises blades that convert the oxidant flowing past the blades into the pre-combustion chamber into a tangential turbulent flow, thus creating a high-speed swirl zone around the circular hole and a low-speed swirl zone in the central part of the pre-combustion chamber.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at providing the combustion chamber with relatively low full acceleration of flow for a short period of time, thereby providing high operating frequencies and corresponding high performance of the combustion chamber.
