FIELD: shipbuilding; construction of tanks of tankers.

SUBSTANCE: proposed tank has bottom, vertical guard consisting of longitudinal and transverse bulkheads and tank top with access hatch. Width of tank extends from port to starboard; tanker has upper deck and double bottom and double sides with inner and outer plating divided vertically by upper and lower inter-side platforms. Each longitudinal bulkhead forming vertical guard of tank is structurally combined with inner plating of double side; this plating is flat in construction and is provided with pillars on section extending from double bottom as far as upper inter-side platform located in upper third of tank height and with longitudinal stiffeners on section extending from upper inter-side platform as far as upper deck; said pillars and stiffeners are located inside inter-side space.

EFFECT: reduced usage of material.
