FIELD: coal processing technologies.
SUBSTANCE: process comprises charging coal into sealed reaction chamber having charging and discharging ends and displacing coal inside reaction chamber toward charging end. Into reaction chamber, essentially pure oxygen is injected in order to combust portions of coal under pressure in reductive atmosphere to produce heat energy required to remove volatile substance from coal and hydrogen-rich crude compressed gas containing isolated from coal carcinogenic distillates and hydrocarbons together with hot coal char. Above carcinogenic distillates and hydrocarbons are then cracked to produce hydrogen-rich cracking gas, which is subjected to desulfurization to produce pure hydrogen-rich synthesis gas. Hot coal char is transported into sealed gasifier, wherein it is gasified with an oxidant to give second crude gas and molten slag. Second crude gas is withdrawn from gasifier together with molten slag through common connecting pipe, which stays open for free passage of second crude gas and molten slag. Second crude gas is separated from molten slag beyond gasifier and sent to purification system to produce purified second gas, whereas molten slag is quenched to give alkali-free solid. Two more embodiments of invention are also described.
EFFECT: enabled generation of gas producing, upon combustion, very little amount of NOx and considerable amount of hydrogen and also production of carbon appropriate as coke or activated carbon.
