SUBSTANCE: forming tubular blank of metal strip fed from uncoiler; welding lengthwise edges of blank at continuously moving it along its lengthwise axis while abutting rear end of one metal strip that terminates in one uncoiler with leading end of other metal strip that begins in other uncoiler; making end portion of one metal strip from one uncoiler more narrow than strip width; lap joining narrow end of one metal strip with end of other metal strip; twisting blanks together in region of joining both strips to U-shaped profile; selecting width of narrow end of metal strip according to condition providing between lengthwise edges of strip gap sufficient for welding its lengthwise edges without interference at further formation of tubular blank.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, lowered labor consumption of process.
