FIELD: water treatment processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of preparing water-soluble reagents to remove suspended particles and mineral- and organic-origin contaminants. Reagent can be used both to treat moderately turbid waters for domestic and drinking demands and to clean industrial and domestic effluents. Reagent is prepared by interaction of (i) aluminum salt, in particular aluminum pentahydroxochloride with molar ratio Cl-/Al3+ = 0.46-0.52, and (ii) polyacrylamide with molecular mass 3·105-2·106. Interaction is accomplished by mixing aqueous colloidal solution of aluminum pentahydroxochloride with 0.1-1.0% aqueous solution of polyacrylamide at molar ratio Al3+ to polyacrylamide unit (2-4):1 and temperature 20-30°C.
EFFECT: increased activity in separation of both moderately turbid dispersions and high-concentration suspensions.
