FIELD: chemical technology in production of radioactive isotopes for medicine.

SUBSTANCE: molybdenum-99 has been widely used for recent 30 years in radioisotope diagnostics by radionuclide. Grade T-5 inorganic sorbent is used as sorbent for separating molybdenum-99 from nitric acid solution of irradiated uranium target and molybdenum is desorbed from sorbent T-5 in calcium or sodium alkali solution.

EFFECT: enlarged range of admissible acid and alkali concentrations enabling dispensing with medium correction when preparing nitric acid solutions for sorption.
