FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy; production of aluminum by electrolysis of cryolite-alumina melt.
SUBSTANCE: electrolyte contains sodium cryolite, alumina and modified additives of potassium fluoride, lithium fluoride, calcium fluoride and magnesium fluoride at the following ratio of components, mass-%: potassium fluoride, 4.0-7.0; lithium fluoride, 1.0-3.0; calcium fluoride, 4.0-5.0; magnesium fluoride, 0.5-1.5; alumina, 2.0-4.0; aluminum fluoride, 4.0-6.0; the remainder being sodium cryolite.
EFFECT: intensification of aluminum production process; enhanced technical and economical parameters; enhanced ecological safety.
