FIELD: electrolytic production of aluminum, namely electrolyte for producing aluminum.
SUBSTANCE: electrolyte contains calcium fluoride, lithium -containing component and aluminum oxide. Electrolyte contains lithium cryolite as lithium-containing component and in addition it contains potassium fluoride at next relation of components, mass %: potassium fluoride, 2 - 10; calcium fluoride CaF2, 3 - 5; aluminum oxide AL2O3, 2 - 3.5; lithium cryolite, the balance.
EFFECT: lowered cost price of aluminum, improved technical and economical factors of cell operation, increased useful life period of cell.
