FIELD: production of collagen film with plurality of openings, said film being delivered in the form of rolls or sheets and used as wrap for food products.
SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing collagen film to laser processing for providing openings having ideal round shape with average ellipticity below 0.17, said openings being spaced apart from one another by distance of from 3 mm to 14 mm. Thanks to said sufficiently small distance between individual openings, exit of air or vapor caught between film and food product wrapped in film is enabled. Film has corresponding mechanical properties, in particular, mechanical strength and extensibility allowing said film to be used in cooked ham production or in conducting of similar processes under commercial conditions.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of food products wrapped in collagen film.
