HIGH-TEMPERATURE PERMEABLE CURRENT-CONDUCTING MATERIAL AND THE METHOD OF ITS PRODUCTION Russian patent published in 2006 - IPC C04B35/42 C04B35/50

Abstract RU 2289552 C1

FIELD: chemical industry; production of the high-temperature permeable current-conducting material based on lanthanum chromite.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to production of the high-temperature permeable current-conducting material based on lanthanum chromite and intended for the permeable fuel element used in the oxidizing media. The technical result of the invention is creation of the material having the high porosity and electric resistance of 10-40 Ohm that will allow it to self-heat from the room temperatures up to working temperatures of 1100-1200°C, to have the strength at the level of 25-30 MPa and to save these characteristics at least during 500 cycles (heating-cooling). The indicated material contains 50-80 mass % of lanthanum chromite and 20-50 mass % of titanium carbide. The method of its manufacture provides for stirring of the powder components, the synthesis of the powder mixture in vacuum conditions at the temperature of 1550-1600°C within 45-60 minutes with the aging at the room temperature within 46-50 hours. Then the synthesized powder is mixed with the plasticizer, pressed and sintered in vacuum at the temperature of 1550-1600°C within 30-60 minutes.

EFFECT: the invention ensures creation of the material having the high porosity and the electric resistance, the strength of 25-30 MPa, the capability of self-heating from the room temperatures up to working temperatures of 1100-1200°C and to save these heating-cooling characteristics at least during 500 cycles.
