FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy. Method includes processing of preliminarily dried initial powders of reacting components in form of titanium and technical carbon, as well as metal binder in form of nickel-chromium alloy, taken with volume fraction from 5 to 50%, in planetary mill with acceleration of grinding bodies in range from 60 to 100 g for time from 60 to 80 seconds to obtain composite particles. Obtained composite particles are mixed with a liquid solution of an adhesive binder to obtain a suspension, from which a granulated powder is obtained by spray drying. Granulated powder obtained as a result of spray drying is scattered with separation of fraction with size of not less than 50 and not more than 125 mcm and its processing in a plasma jet, in which titanium carbide is synthesized in a metal matrix and particles are spheroidized.
EFFECT: obtaining particles of powder of composite material of spherical shape based on titanium carbide and metal binder of specified phase composition.
