FIELD: solar power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises extracting the UV-component from the received flux of solar energy and concentrating the extracted component to affect the flow of liquid to be disinfected. The UV-component of radiation is converted into the converging wedge-shaped beam, and the cross-section of the flow of the liquid to be disinfected is elongated along the edge if the top of the beam. The device comprises concentrator of the UV-component of radiation, cell for flowing the liquid to be disinfected having transparent window for illuminating the flow, unit for generating the parallel beam of UV radiation made of convex reflecting member mounted in front of the focal region of the concentrator, and cylindrical positive lens mounted behind the back side of the concentrator. The cylindrical focusing lens is optically connected with the reflecting surface of the concentrator . The cell is mounted in the focal line of the cylindrical focusing lens. The cross-section of the space of the cell is converging from the intermediate section to the periphery.

EFFECT: simplified method and enhanced convenience of servicing.
